About The Dancing Queen Foundation
Founded by friends and family in 2009, it is a loving tribute to the late Dr Yiota Demetriou whose ambition to help children, in the field of Child Psychology, was cut short due a tragic car accident caused by a drunk driver in November 2008.
Since it was created, the foundation has endeavoured to continue her mission of serving children and positively impacting the youth in our community.
The Dr. Yiota Demetriou -The Dancing Queen Foundation is a non-profit organization created to positively impact the lives of children and teenagers. Its mission is to make a difference in their quality of life and psychological well-being.
We are committed to improving the mental wellness of the many children which we support by raising funds and financially assisting those in need of psychological and other life-enhancing therapies.
Our passionate DQ family of organizers, volunteers, supporters, and sponsors are committed to empowering the most disadvantaged youth of our community by continuously raising funds, all of which goes directly towards financially helping them receive much-needed therapies.
It is our duty to strengthen the vulnerable youth and we aim to assist them in becoming resourceful and resilient, as they prepare for the adult world with all its challenges.
